Lucend is a Transparent AI platform for data center optimization, built to help operators get daily clarity from the sensor data they already have. Formerly known as Coolgradient, the company focuses on helping data centers reduce firefighting, improve reliability, lower PUE, and get more performance from existing infrastructure without new hardware or new CapEx.
The platform connects to existing systems such as BMS, DCIM, and SCADA, then analyzes millions of signals across temperature, fan speeds, power draw, humidity, and other facility data. Lucend identifies hidden inefficiencies, diagnoses the cause, and delivers specific recommendations with projected impact. Each recommendation includes traceability, so operators can see how the insight was reached and decide whether, when, and how to act.
Lucend is designed around human-led decision-making rather than autonomous control. Its focus is on clear, verifiable recommendations that support operations teams, sustainability leaders, and executives across performance, maintenance, energy efficiency, and reporting. The company says customers can reach time to value in around six weeks, with no physical changes required.
Founded in 2023 by Jasper de Vries and René Gompel, Lucend is based in Amsterdam and raised $3.3 million in seed funding in January 2026.
